I reme...I'm really happy that you enjoyed this! I remember reading The Book Thief for the first time and it was so profoundly moving. The only reason I didn't burst into tears at the end was because I was at my grandparents house at Christmas. Like you said, the writing style is simply gorgeous and it's one of the big things that make this book really special for me. The foreshadowing also made the story that bit more tragic and emotionally charged, for me anyway. <br /><br />The Book Thief is a truly affecting story that I adored and will always adore. It's also probably the best YA book I've ever read. I agree...This is one of my all time favorite books! I agree that the narration doesn't take away from the shock of what happens.
